Coronavirus Update

Our Office’s Safety Precautions

Nothing is more important to us than to provide a healthy environment to treat our patients. We have spent a lot of time redesigning our systems and training our staff to provide the highest level of care in the safest manner possible. To help prevent the transmission of all respiratory infections, including COVID-19, we will continue to adhere to strict infection control measures such as using EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant, as well as appropriate sterilization of all tools and equipment. We have upgraded our personal protection equipment (n95 respirator masks, face shields, etc.) to comply with the current COVID-19 CDC guidelines. All of this is an effort to ensure the safety of our patients during treatment. Towards that end, we will be pre-screening all patients before their appointments and will need to postpone appointments for patients who have had any of the following:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Close contact with a person with known COVID-19 infection

Your Appointment

On the day of your appointment, please brush your teeth before your appointment since our brushing stations will be closed to avoid the spread of germs.  Please try to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment.  When you arrive for your appointment, stay in your car and text the patient’s name to 803-205-2631.  This will alert us that you are waiting to be seen.  Once we are ready, we will text you to enter the office where a team member will meet you at the door.  For the safety of you and our team, we ask that only the patient enter the office unless you feel special assistance is warranted.  If you feel the patient needs assistance, we ask that only one person come in with the patient and please wear a mask.  Before entering the clinic we will take the patient’s temperature using a touchless thermometer, give them hand sanitizer, and ask a series of health related questions related to COVID-19.  Then, we will escort the patient to their treatment chair.  After the appointment is over, we will schedule the patient’s next appointment and escort them back to their car and give a brief summary of the treatment provided. Of course we also welcome any calls or texts with any questions or concerns you have.

Will My Treatment Be Extended Due to the Office Closure?

Yes there is a possibility that your total treatment time will be extended due to the following factors:

  • The unprecedented amount of time the office was mandated to close due to COVID 19
  • The need to slow down the schedule and space patients out within the clinic in order to minimize contact between individuals
  • The extra time our team will need between patients to thoroughly disinfect the dental chair and equipment

While a longer treatment time is possible, we will do everything we can to complete your treatment in the shortest time possible while staying laser focused on the quality of your result and the safety of everyone.
